Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has received injury reinforcement ahead of this weekend’s clash with Brighton.

Midfielder duo James Milner and Naby Keita were forced to retire injured in the Reds’ sensational 5-0 win over bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Milner suffered a hamstring injury in the first half, while Keita, whose Liverpool career has been ruined by injury setbacks, was stretched out after a terrible two-footed tackle from Paul Pogba.

Naby Keita's injury does not appear to be as serious as initially feared after he was taken out on a stretcher.

But it seems that Keita’s injury is not as serious as initially feared, as he suffered bruises, but did not turn at all and did not leave Old Trafford on crutches, according to The athletic.

The two injuries led the Reds into a midfield injury crisis with Harvey Elliott and Thiago Alcantara already on the sidelines.

While Fabinho was forced to miss Sunday’s win after taking a hit to the knee in a 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last week.

The report states, however, that Brazilian international Fabinho is likely to be available for Liverpool’s clash against Brighton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Milner and Keita formed a three in midfield alongside captain Jordan Henderson with Curtis Jones replacing the injured Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain replacing Keita after he was on the receiving end of Pogba’s red card lunge.

Liverpool wiped out United after Keita overtook them in the first five minutes. Goals from Diogo Jota and two from Mohamed Salah brought them into halftime with four goals in favor.

Salah scored his third and Liverpool’s fifth 10 minutes before Pogba was sacked as Klopp’s side totally humiliated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
