Scotland captain retired with a hamstring problem during his win over Denmark
The Scotland captain fell to the grass in the 79th minute and was unable to complete the full 90 minutes. Nottingham Forest star Scott McKenna replaced the defender.
Robertson made no mention of the hit after the game, tweeting: ‘What a night in Hampden, strong finish to the season! All outstanding tonight. ‘
Liverpool or Scotland have not provided any official medical updates, and boss Jurgen Klopp hopes Robertson’s name will not be added to an ever-growing list of injuries at Anfield.
Hamstring injuries have hit the Reds this season, with Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita and James Milner suffering similar setbacks this season.
Robertson did not mention the hit in his post-game tweet Monday night.
Jurgen Klopp has been stunned by a series of injuries in his early days over the past week.
Sadio Mane is offside with a rib problem while out for Senegal, Henderson withdrew from the England squad with an unspecified injury and Joe Gomez suffers a foot injury.
Liverpool return to action on Saturday afternoon as the Premier League title contenders welcome Arsenal in form at Anfield.
Robertson’s availability would provide a huge boost for Klopp against Mikel Arteta’s team, although substitute Kostas Tsimikas has proven to be a capable substitute when called up for this term.
On the other hand, Harvey Elliott has returned to training just two months after injuring his ankle against Leeds United.
Jordan Henderson (pictured) and Sadio Mane have also been beaten while away
There is no timetable for the 18-year-old’s return to action, and Milner has praised the youngster’s mental strength since his injury.
“It has been very positive from the beginning, to be honest,” he said. “He was talking about mental toughness before, as soon as it happened, the things he was saying, he talks like he’s been through all of this before and he’s a 30+ year old player.
Is incredible. He has a great mentality, he has done all his work, he is progressing very well. Not too far from ditching the crutches I think, which is fantastic.
