However, the report added that the Gunners face a January battle with AC Milan, which reportedly submitted an undisclosed offer by the Portugal international.

Reports from last week suggested that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta (left) is interested in signing him.
But talking to L’EquipeSanches admitted that he doesn’t know if the interest from the Premier League and Serie A giants – the latter whom he described as a ‘big and historic club – is real, but said he was ready to go if a suitable offer came through.
“Maybe Milan and Arsenal are interested, but I don’t know,” Sanches said. “Milan is a great and historic club. It’s class, I like them.
‘I spoke to my agent, I know which clubs are calling and which ones are not, but I can’t say right now. But I know I’m ready. If an offer comes in, I will find out what is best for me.
Sanches has already represented a major European team, but played just 53 games for Bayern Munich in two torrid seasons on either side of a loan to Swansea, before sealing his move to France in 2019.
But they will face competition from AC Milan from Stefano Pioli, who reportedly made an offer.
He claims he wasn’t ready to play for such a high-profile club back then, before adding that a summer signing for LaLiga’s Barcelona was thwarted by a knee injury that forced him to undergo surgery.
“When I came to Bayern Munich, I was not ready to play for a club like this,” continued Sanches.
‘Was very young. And when I prepared, the opportunity to play for this team never came. Today I feel prepared. I understand football better, I have more experience, I know what to do to play for these types of clubs and that changes everything.
“Many clubs were interested this summer, when I was injured, I understood that I would have stayed in Lille.
“Everything was done with Barcelona, I think everything collapsed due to the injury.”
Sanches also claimed that a knee injury in the summer ruined his hopes of moving to Barcelona.
