- Talking about the feeling of being watched all the time felt by ‘extremely famous’
- Actress was just 18 when the Twilight franchise put her in the spotlight
She grew to superstardom when she was just 18, when the Twilight franchise and her real-life romance with her lead co-star Robert Pattinson pushed her into the limelight.
As such, Kristen Stewart has said that the extreme level of fame she has experienced helps her gain some personal understanding of the pressure Princess Diana most likely felt as she prepared for her role as a royal in Spencer.
The 31-year-old actress told The Sunday Times: ‘It’s the feeling of being constantly watched, whatever you’re doing. When you’re in public, there’s always someone in the room watching you.
“Even if they aren’t, it’s in the back of your mind. That’s a feeling you only have when you’re extremely famous. It’s a very different approach to being human,” she admitted.

Kristen was turned into “paparazzi gold” thanks to the vampire franchise, which made $3.3 billion at the box office, and had to deal with the added pressures of the Internet and user obsessions.
But when asked about the comparisons between Diana’s fame and hers, she initially says, “The attention is something I can see a parallel in, but the cumulative expectation? Not in the distance there.’
However, Kristen admitted it was “weird” to “inhabit a space where people are disappointed in your choices” before insisting she has tried to be a figurehead or a role model.
Spencer focuses on a fictional Sandringham gathering at Christmas 1991, when Princess Diana is at her peak and about to divorce her husband, Prince Charles.

The first trailer for the film was released last month, with Kristen first hearing the late Royal’s accent.
Set in 1991 and set to be released on November 5, the short clip saw the Hollywood star wandering the Sandringham Estate grounds over the Christmas period when her marriage to Prince Charles broke down in the wake of rumors of divorce and infidelity.
Written by English screenwriter Steven Knight, who also wrote Peaky Blinders, the script follows the moments when Diana realizes she must “deviate from a path that aligns her to one day become queen.”
A similar Christmas was just dramatized in the final season of The Crown, for which Emma Corrin received much critical acclaim.
Kristen became known worldwide as Bella Swan in the film adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s popular Twilight book series.
Around the time of the movies – which were released from 2008 to 2012 – she also made headlines for her real-life romance with her lead actor Robert.
She was infamously photographed kissing her then-married Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders in public while she and Robert were an item.
Since then, Kristen’s dating history has spanned musician St. Vincent and supermodel Stella Maxwell, and she is now dating screenwriter Dylan Meyer.
