Shoppers have revealed the troubling problem they encountered every time they walked in their $8 sandals from Kmart.

A group of Australian women shared their funny confession after discovering that their Double Buckle Footbed Slides were making ‘farting’ sounds.

The budget buy is popular among shoppers mainly because they are remarkably similar to Birkenstock sandals that cost between $90 and $235.

“How do you make these slides stop sounding like you’re farting with every step you take?” one woman wrote in a Facebook group and another added, ‘Oh my god I have some and I’m walking so clumsily to stop the foot fart.’

“Oh thank goodness it’s real. I embraced the fart sounds because they are such comfortable shoes,” said another.

While one jokingly suggested, “Fart while the shoes fart and blame the shoes.”

However, a woman came up with a simple solution to get rid of the unpleasant noise for good.

“For those who had the problem of their Kmart sandals making farting noises… Just poke the arch of the sandal a few times with scissors, it will leave holes in your shoes, but no one will see them anyway once you put them on.” wears,” she said.

“After that I did a few laps around the house and no more fart noises. I’m happy because I wanted to throw away my sandals, now I can wear them this summer.’

Another shopper explained that the tricky problem only occurred in people who have “a bit of a bow on their feet.”

“Air gets trapped and is pushed out of the small opening. Unfortunately, it’s just the shape of the feet, but I’m sure if you made a hole in the middle, it would probably stop,” she said.

Some buyers suggested investing in a reputable brand — but those who own a pair of Birkenstock sandals claimed they had a similar problem.

‘My Birkenstocks sometimes make the fart sound, too,’ said one woman, while another added, ‘My Birkenstocks make the same sound, I thought it was me.’

While one woman said: ‘Some people say they should get Birkenstock. Not everyone has the luxury of spending $200 on a pair of shoes. To get myself a pair, I had to throw them on Afterpay and feel guilty for having to pay it every two weeks. Mommy life.’
