A young woman has shared the secret to her drastic hair transformation after discovering a hair care line that could tackle her frizzy hair.

Perth-based data scientist Myrnelle Jover struggled with her hair care and turned to the Facebook group Modern Muses for advice.

She was quickly bombarded with comments urging her to try Kérastase Discipline’s anti-frizz range (shampoo, $44 and conditioner, $48), so she gave it a try; the results speak for themselves.

The savvy stylist started to notice results after just a few washes and showed off her smooth, styled locks before and after photos.

How did Myrnelle transform her hair at home?

When conditioning, make sure you work in sections, then comb through with your fingers and let the product sit for a few minutes

Apply Kérastase’s Maskératine after every second and rinse with lukewarm water

After washing, rinse with a stream of cold water for 20 seconds to retain moisture

Wrap your wet hair in a turban with a cotton T-shirt or microfiber hair towel and remove it when it is about 80 percent dry

Use two pumps of the Kérastase Elixir Ultime Original Hair Oil from the lengths to the tips and use your hands to divide the hair into small curls to cover the strands.

Speaking to FEMAIL, Myrnelle said that despite the salon-worthy results, she kept her routine super simple.

She wet her hair with lukewarm water, washed with Kérastase’s Discipline Bain Fluidealiste shampoo and massaged the scalp, rinsed and gently squeezed out the excess before applying the conditioner from the lengths to the tips.

After letting the conditioner sit for a few minutes, Myrnelle gently combed through her hair before rinsing it out, gave her mane a quick run of cool water, and wrapped it in a cotton T-shirt or microfiber towel.

What Causes Dry, Frizzy Hair?

Dehydration: You may not be maintaining your water intake or following a balanced diet

Shampoo: the shampoo you use dries your hair

Natural Hair Oil Secretion: Your hair’s natural oils don’t travel down the hair shaft

Protein balance: the protein-moisture balance in your hair is out of balance, resulting in a lack of moisture in the hair

Sleeping surface: Your hair rubs at night against drying materials that can harm the hair – sleeping on silk or satin pillowcases can help

Over-processed hair: Over-processed chemicals such as bleach can damage the hair cuticle

Myrnelle also recommended using two pumps of Kérastase Elixir Ultime Original Hair Oil after every wash and the Maskératine hair mask with every other wash.

Before styling, she spritzed her locks with TRESemmé’s heat protectant spray before curling away from the face using a flat iron or curling iron.

There are over 100 five-star reviews of the duo online, many describing them as “miracle workers.”

‘It smoothes out my frizzy hair and it smells divine! I only use the smallest amount, a little goes a long way,” one woman wrote.

‘I don’t normally splurge on a shampoo, but I would – I’m really glad I did! You hardly need anything to lather your hair, so it lasts a long time (yes to my wallet) and it smells divine,” added another.

In Australia you can buy the range at most salons and at love beauty.
