He is known for solving the legal battles of others in the courtroom.

But Judge Robert Rinder faced his own battle on Monday, when his Apple AirPods went missing and landed on another side of London where he last saw them.

The lawyer, 43, launched a public appeal for his earphones to be returned, which typically cost more than £100, and took to Twitter to offer a reward and were not charged.

He also explained that the AirPods had made their way from where he had last seen them in central London to about 20 minutes across the city, near Hermitage Street.

In a now-deleted tweet, Robert sarcastically joked: ‘To the nice person who accidentally picked up my AirPods and (mistakenly assuming they are the real owners) brought them from central London to near Hermitage St W2.

‘Please return them for a reward .. and a commitment not to steal by finding them. And thanks’

Robert announced that he would be making the trip, tweeting: ‘Oksana Platero, my Ukrainian dance partner on @bbcstrictly, has given me so much. Right now, her grandparents have been struggling for a week to find shelter in a safe country.

“I’ll try to meet them at the border next week. They are just a few of the millions who need us.’

Once he picked them up, he took to Instagram to share sweet snaps as they cuddled and also saw Oskana’s aunt.

Rob talked about their experience and said: 'They are 85 and 95, it took them a week to get across the border. They went through a trauma of being able to cross the border' (pictured with Oskana's aunt)
