Jamie Carragher criticizes Man Utd players for ‘outrageous and disgusting’ performance in loss at Watford
Jamie Carragher criticized the Manchester United players, describing their performances in the loss at Watford as “disgusting and disgraceful”.
United capitulated 4-1 at Vicarage Road and sent Harry Maguire off in the second half when they fell to a fourth loss in five Premier League games, putting them 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea.
The result piled up even more pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and United’s hierarchy reportedly reacted to the defeat by hastily calling a meeting to discuss the Norwegian’s future.

Solskjaer survived the international break despite humiliating home losses to Liverpool and Manchester City but, according to The timesUnited are now seriously considering a change of direction with Zinedine Zidane as the clear leader.
Carragher, however, said the players were to blame for United’s demise more than their coach.

While the writing seemed to be on the wall for Solskjaer, Carragher insisted that United players had to take responsibility for some of the “outrageous performances” they have produced this season.

“Watford is pretty horrible, I’ve seen them a lot this season, losing there 4-1 is absolutely disgusting and embarrassing for some of those players,” he continued.

Speaking after the game, David De Gea admitted that after the loss to Watford it had been ’embarrassing’ and acknowledged that the responsibility lay with the players.
“It’s easy to blame the coach or the staff, but sometimes it’s the players,” he said.

Fernandes made a gesture of frustration when the visiting fans booed United at the final whistle.
Bruno Fernandes appeared to sing from the same sheet, while defending Solskjaer when several fans on the visiting end booed the Norwegian loudly at full time.
For his part, the 48-year-old said he was ’embarrassed’ by the manner of the loss, but insisted he had received no indication from United that the club was planning a change.

“ But when we get to this stage, now you look at Ole as an individual and a human being and you think it’s not good for him to be the Manchester United manager right now. ”
