Home sweet house party! Prince Harry planned a quiet party for his wife Meghan Markle39th birthday at their Los Angeles residence, a source says exclusively Us weekly. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and the couple’s 14-month-old son, Archie, were both present.
“They spent the day as a family and in the evening Doria took care of Archie for Meghan and Harry to enjoy a few times,” the insider said of the festivities on Tuesday, August 4. “Harry cooked Meghan a three-course dinner, but Doria helped prepare him.”
The source adds, “Although Harry has become a better cook since he married Meghan, he still has a long way to go!”
The former military pilot, 35, “hosted a huge chocolate birthday cake topped with powdered sugar and balloons” to make Meghan’s big day an unforgettable one.
When it came to her gift, Harry went for something unique and sentimental.
“He wanted the gift to be personal, so he surprised Meghan with a necklace he designed,” the insider said U.S. “And a framed photo of the two he made himself.”
For her part, this year’s California resident wanted to “ keep it small and intimate, ” but the source says Meghan plans to have a “ big, glam birthday party with all her friends for her fortieth next year. ”
