A man who wasted $10,000 on acne treatments has cracked the code for glowing skin with a sold-out product that promises to transform your complexion in weeks.

After wasting thousands on topical creams to cure his adult acne, Reever Botha, 26, turned his attention to solving the problem from the inside out with a colon cleansing kit that claims to relieve pimples, inflammation and bloating.

Together with roommate Vlad Kosovac, also 26, the businessman created PuraU, a wellness brand that specializes in $139 detox packs made from powerful natural ingredients that promise to boost the immune system and improve overall health.

The TGA-approved kits were an instant hit when launched at the start of the pandemic in March 2020, generating $25,000 in sales in the first three weeks, followed by a staggering $350,000 in subsequent months.

The kits, which start from $139, promise to reduce acne symptoms and relieve digestive problems, including gas and bloating within weeks.

But this remarkable success wouldn’t have been possible without the help of some of Australia’s most glamorous Instagram influencers.

“Social media created such a huge demand, our entire production sold out twice – we just couldn’t keep up with orders,” Mr Botha told Daily Mail Australia.

The company was born after a naturopath resolved Mr Botha’s chronic acne, which had persisted for more than 10 years, with a simple gut-boosting tonic.

When his breakouts cleared up within four months, he realized he could build a brand on the intrinsic little-known link between good gut health and glowing skin.

What’s in a PuraU Colon Cleansing Kit?

barberry: Supports healthy digestion and relieves symptoms of indigestion such as bloating and gas.

Niacinamide: Helps to cleanse and detoxify the body. Relieves skin inflammation and supports a healthy stress response in the body.

Zinc: Supports immune function and mental well-being, as well as reducing inflammation and relieving skin congestion.

milk thistle: Reduces anxiety and supports emotional well-being.

“Education is one of the biggest keys to success… and our young age has been an advantage as we live our brand,” explained Mr Botha,

‘Almost all of our friends were not aware, for example, that good skin is linked to good gut health.

“We know that one of the biggest compliments you can give a girl is how amazing her skin looks, yet so many of our friends were using ‘patches’ sold by major multinational companies that treated the symptoms rather than the cause. ‘

Co-founder Mr Kosovac agreed, saying they worked tirelessly to avoid selling a ‘smoke and mirrors’ product that didn’t provide an effective solution.

PuraU kits have been developed in consultation with physicians and are certified by the Therapeutic Goods Administration, a rare achievement for an over-the-counter supplement.

The packs, available in 20 day, 40 day and 60 day sizes, are said to be Australia’s fastest growing gut health remedy – and now the founders have their sights set on expanding in the US.

The duo plans to partner with mega influencers with 10 to 40 million followers, including Addison Rae, Shay Mitchell, Hannah Stocking and Kayla Itsines.

“With the kind of success we have in Australia and the confidence we have in our product’s ability to work, we believe PuraU can really shake up the global gut health industry,” said Mr Botha.
