Horizon Forbidden West is located between Utah and the Pacific and will feature some fully explorable iconic locations.
The September 2020 issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK confirmed that the open world game for PlayStation 5, developed by Guerilla Games, will contain San Francisco and the Yosemite Valley in explorable form. Many speculated that the game would take place in Utah, Nevada and California by analyzing the revealing trailer, so it’s nice to finally receive official confirmation.
Horizon Forbidden West harnesses the power of the PlayStation 5 to deliver an incredibly immersive experience. The console’s SSD also makes screen loading a thing of the past.
On PS5, we can make the world even more detailed, vibrant and immersive. With the PS5’s SSD, there are virtually no loading screens. So, in an open world game like Horizon Forbidden West, if you open the map and quickly travel from one end to the other [or] restarting from a checkpoint will be super fast. When you start the game, you are exactly in the action.
Horizon Forbidden West is currently under development exclusively for PlayStation 5, but the original Horizon: Zero Dawn will make its debut on PC soon, complete with ultra-wide support
- Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC supports multiple resolutions up to native 4k.
- Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC can be played in 32: 9 ultra-wide ratio and 3840 x 1080 resolution if your hardware supports it. Note that cutscenes are limited to a 16: 9 ratio.
- Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC lets you choose from a variety of presets for both AA and AF settings. It does not support ray tracing. The characters, machines and environments are the same as those in the PS4 version.
Horizon Forbidden West will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5 sometime in 2021.
