Honor Play 20 Pro: OLED screen and 64 megapixel camera for just over 200 euros to change

Honor returns to the fray with a new mid-range smartphone. If a few weeks ago the company, now independent from Huawei, showed us its commitment to the high-end range, it has now announced a new, more affordable terminal with OLED screen: the Honor 20 Play Pro.

It is a relatively modest device, although with a generous amount of RAM and internal storage. We are going to get to know it better now, but not before highlighting that the terminal has been announced in China and that, for the moment, there is no news about its possible arrival in Europe. If we do, we will update the item with the official price.

The Honor Play 20 Pro is a fairly simple and modest terminal, although it stands out for its huge amount of RAM. In the back we find the module with the four cameras, which we will talk about later, and nothing more, since the fingerprint reader has been implemented under the screen.

Honor's life after Huawei: the beginning of a change in strategy to regain lost ground (also in prices)

As for the screen, Honor has opted for a panel OLED, something that is not usually seen in these price ranges. However, we do not have a high refresh rate, but rather terminal stays with 60 Hz. The screen is 6.53 inches, its resolution is FullHD + and, curiously, it has a notch in the shape of a drop instead of a perforation.

Under the hood we find a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, so we can frame it in the mid-range. Although it is not a particularly powerful processor, the device does not fall short of either RAM or storage, while It incorporates 8 GB of the first and 128 GB of the second.

It gives life to the whole Android 11 con Magic UI 4 (Honor’s customization layer) and 3.800 mAh with fast charge of 22.5W. Since the device has been presented in China there is no mention that it has Google applications. However, the CEO of Honor said in an interview with Engadget that the terminals that were launched in the global market would have them, so we will have to wait to find out about doubts.
