HBO Max unveils epic first trailer for ‘House of the Dragon’, the long-awaited new ‘Game of Thrones’ series
The long-awaited new series of ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘House of the Dragon,’ has revealed its first (and brief trailer), with a premiere scheduled for 2022 during the announcement of the news that HBO Max will bring in its landing in Spain at the end of October. The series will be based on the book ‘Fire and Blood’ by George RR Martin (who is not listed as a writer for the series), and whose story will take place 300 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’.
The series will focus on telling the story of House Targaryen, the beginning of its end specifically, and the video confirms what we already knew: we will have dragons in abundance. We will know the history of Viserys, who he has to take on a difficult challenge as he is chosen by the lords of Westeros to occupy the position on the throne from his grandfather, Jaehaerys Targaryen.
New inhabitants of Westeros
Among the cast stands out without a doubt, among those recently announced, Paddy Considine, whom we have seen recently in the first season of ‘The visitor’, who will play Viserys. He will be joined by Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, among others.
The showrunners of this new Game of Thrones series will be Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, director of acclaimed episodes of the classic series, such as ‘The Battle of the Bastards’. Sapochnik will be in charge of signing the direction of the pilot and other chapters. Condal will coordinate the writing team that will write the ten episodes of this first season of ‘House of the Dragon’.
