Harry Styles Releases An Inclusive Makeup Brand Called Pleasing

After hitting the charts, making headlines with his outlandish red-carpet looks and wearing dresses for Vogue, Harry Styles has found a new way to delight fans with his new non-binary cosmetics brand.

The One Direction’s star cosmetics line, called Pleasing, is already sold out, after launching for pre-order yesterday.

Beauty lovers can get their hands on the singer’s nail polish and serums when the vegan and cruelty-free line launches to the general public on November 29.

Styles, who is known for playing with gender fluidity, said he wanted the collection to make fans happy, regardless of gender.

Harry Styles, 27, has released his very first beauty line called Pleasing, which is available in the US and UK, with prices ranging from £16 to £50. The collection is currently only available for pre-order, with the general sale opening on Nov 29

Some polishes can be bought separately for £15 each, while others are available as a set of three for £50.

The small bottles are inspired by old perfume decanters from the past, with lids in the shape of pearls.

Two shades are available separately for £15: Perfect Pearl and Pearly Tops, which are white and iridescent white respectively with a matte finish.

These two colors are also available in a set of four, in addition to Inky Pearl and Granny’s Pink Pearls, which are black with a deep blue look and pink with a glossy finish.

The set of four nail polishes costs £50 and also includes alphabet letter stickers to customize your nails.

Pleasing’s first collection is also venturing into skincare with the Pleasing Pen, which costs £23 and doubles as a lip and eye serum.

The eye formula contains natural blueberry juice, okra and hyaluronan salt that hydrates and rejuvenates the under eye.

Meanwhile, the lip treatment is made with marshmallow extract and olive oil-derived squalane.

Styles said of the pen, “When we decided that Pleasing would make beauty products, I wanted to make sure I was using them.

‘I didn’t want to make products to mask people, I wanted to highlight them and make them feel beautiful. The Pleasant Pen is great because when you’re feeling a little less than wonderful, you can refresh yourself anywhere,” he added.

“The lip oil dries matte in about a minute, perfect for giving yourself a mini massage with the eye serum.”

In addition to the eye and lip serum, the collection also includes a Pearlescent Illuminating Serum which costs £27.

The fragrance-free formula contains moisturizing ingredients including beta-glucan, panthenol and vitamin B.

The serum, which the brand claims is suitable for all skin types, promises to smooth, soften and moisturize skin for a visibly brighter face.

“The Pearlescent Serum is inspired by the Japanese skin divers—female divers who collected pearls for Morimoto with no equipment, only with a net,” says Styles.

“Their skin looks so fresh, glowing in the sun, and I wanted a product that would give that feeling. The serum brightens the skin over time, but it also instantly evens out the look of your skin, as if you just came out of the cold ocean,” he added.

The brand wants to take inspiration from nature, is vegan, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly.

The packaging is made from compostable and recycled materials that have been ‘sourced responsibly’.

About how he came up with the line, Styles said, “I wanted to find a way to explore more ideas and have more opportunities to collaborate with people who inspired me; that’s how Pleas was born.

“Starting the brand with beauty felt exciting because creating great products is a unique way to make people feel good.”

Speak with DazedStyles said: ‘It starts with nail polish because that was kind of the birth of what it was for.

“I see a color on a flower or a wallpaper or something and I think, ‘Oh, I want to put that on my nails.’ It was a fun little project, but during the pandemic, and when we finally called it Pleasing, it felt like it was so much more than nail polish.

“I’ve always found that the moments in my life that have brought me the most joy are the little ones, whether it’s, you know, the end of the night under the stars or a bite to eat, or sitting with your friends thinking, “Oh, I will never forget this”.’

The Brit Award winner added that those moments have “the longest lasting effect” on him in the sense of “igniting something great”, which he says is the “essence” of the brand.

Harry rose to fame at the age of 16 when he appeared on The X Factor in 2010 and became a fifth of One Direction.

The group achieved worldwide success, with Harry admitting that he was previously afraid he wouldn’t know who he was without being in the band.
