Greggs Festive Bake is back for 2021

Greggs has delighted fans with the return of their Festive Bake for 2021 – and this year vegans can enjoy the treat too, as the chain has also launched a plant-based version.

Foodies can now get their hands on the Festive Bake and the brand new Vegan Festive Bake in stores across the UK.

The new festive menu also features five delicious festive sweet treats, including the Christmas Bun, Christmas Tree Biscuit and Christmas Cake Slice.

The new additions join the Christmas treats already in Greggs stores, including the Pigs Under Blankets Baguette, Christmas Lunch Soup and a range of festive drinks.

Made from a delicious shortcrust pastry, filled with chunks of cooked chicken, sage & onion filling and cooked sweetcure bacon, topped with a creamy sage & cranberry sauce – the Festive Bake is a huge hit with fans with hundreds of photos of it online and saying they’ve turned to their local swear to rush to get one.

Greggs is also launching the vegan festive tray for the first time.

Inspired by the original masterpiece, the Vegan Festive Bake is made from puff pastry filled with savory Quorn™ mycoprotein chunks, sage and onion filling balls and vegan bacon crumbs, beautifully finished with a delicious sage and cranberry sauce.

Hundreds of fans have taken to Twitter to reveal their love for the snack, but some have expressed disappointment and failed to get their hands on it.

“Me at Greggs’ row baking me festive,” wrote one meme of a laughing person.

“The Greggs vegan festive bake slaps,” wrote another.

“Just had my first celebratory bake from Greggs – possibly the best I’ve ever eaten,” commented a third.

“Gregg’s vegan festive bake gets a big 10/10 from me, it’s a bit SEXY,” said a fourth.

‘My excitement for @GreggsOfficial vegan festive bake today was not disappointed,’ wrote another.

“Just had my first festive cake of the Christmas season of 2021, please Mr Greggs, make sure they are available all year round,” suggested one fan.

“Gregs’ celebratory bin is undefeated,” wrote another.

However, some were disappointed that they couldn’t get the delivery services, and one person wrote that they were going to “cry” because it wasn’t available on Just Eat.

Another added that they couldn’t find it all in Norwich.

Greggs said the bake is “very, very popular” and “sold out in some stores,” making it unavailable on Just Eat.

“We are working hard to get this back in our stores as soon as possible,” she added.

The new Bake marks another delicious addition to the on-the-go retailer’s increasingly popular vegan range, following the 2019 debut of the Vegan Sausage Roll, the hearty 2020 Vegan Steak Bake and the Vegan Sausage, Bean and CheeZe Melt that took customers by storm this summer.

Hannah Squirrell, Customer Director at Greggs, told FEMAIL: “The Festive Bake is the latest iconic Greggs Bake that has been given a vegan-friendly makeover, and it retains all the classic Christmas flavors of the original.

“There’s nothing better during the holiday season than enjoying delicious Christmas food, and we’re confident customers will love our latest tasty Bakes.”

The chain famously launched a vegan sausage roll in January 2019, with customers queuing for hours and traveling from city to city to get their hands on the treat.
