Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Gareth Bale will return to training in a boost for Wales.

The Welshman has been out of the game since early September after suffering a hamstring tear, and his last outing was a goalless draw against Estonia in a World Cup qualifying match.

Wales are currently third in their group, but tied on points and have one game less over the Czech Republic that sits above them in second place.

Belgium are comfortably at the top of the group, while whoever gets a second place will advance to the play-offs and still have a chance to reach the World Cup in Qatar next year.

Real Madrid manager Ancelotti has offered Wales some hope by saying that Bale will return to training next week and that he could be available for his match against Rayo Vallecano, the last one before the international matches in November.

Ancelotti said at a press conference, according to Mark, ahead of Wednesday’s game against Osasuna: ‘Gareth Bale was discharged yesterday and I think that in a week he will be able to train with the team. Maybe he can be (available) against Rayo Vallecano. ‘

Bale, who spent last season on loan at Tottenham, had gotten off to a brilliant start on his return to Real Madrid this season.

He started his first three games of the season in which he scored in a 3-3 draw with Levante.

Bale then suffered a hamstring injury that ruled him out of being selected for Wales in October.

Speaking ahead of the October internationals, Wales coach Rob Page said: “You rate hamstring injuries from one to four and his is closer to four.

‘So it’s a pretty significant hamstring tear. We have been in close contact with him to see how he progresses, but this camp has come too early for him.

“Originally he could have been progressing on the field from November, that’s the meaning of the injury.”

Wales have two home games next month, the first against Belarus on November 13 and a tough game against Belgium three days later.
