Former and current Manchester United players have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils issued a statement announcing their decision to fire the Norwegian manager on Sunday morning after United suffered a humiliating 4-1 loss to Watford on Saturday.

“Michael Carrick will now take over the team for the next matches, while the club looks to appoint an interim coach by the end of the season.”

Former Manchester United legend Gary Neville took to Twitter to thank Solskjaer and tell the Norwegian manager he was “proud” of him.

He said, ‘Thank you Ole. You made us proud. The last two months were tough, but before that you gave the club some soul back. ”
