Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings announced at a news conference Monday that the curfew for the entire country had been lifted with immediate effect. 10:00 PM The curfew that applied to Orlando was also lifted on Monday by Mayor Buddy Dyer. Curfew was introduced during a number of protests following the death of George Floyd.
Disney Springs and CityWalk started closing at 7 PM. when curfew was first introduced to give employees and guests time to return home. According to the website, Disney Springs is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. until further notice. Meanwhile, CityWalk at Universal is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Both Disney and Universal reopened their dining and shopping complexes to the public last month. In the following weeks, Universal has reopened its theme parks with certain health and safety measures.
Disney plans to begin reopening the theme parks in July. The first two parks to open are Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom on July 11, followed by Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15.
