In the latest fossil fuel banking campaign, Deutsche Bank DB,
said it will no longer fund new Arctic projects or oil sands projects. Deutsche Bank has also pledged to stop financing oil and gas projects using hydraulic fracturing in countries with scarce water supplies. At the end of 2020, the bank will review all its existing business activities in the oil and gas sector and will review all its existing business activities in Europe and the US with regard to customers’ diversification plans in the coal-fired power station. Deutsche Bank said that by 2025 it will end its global coal mining operations.
