Daniel Ricciardo arrives at Monza with a ‘ridiculous’ tattoo of Lando Norris’ face on his neck… as the Australian looks to resolve rumors of a split with his teammate after his McLaren axe
- Daniel Ricciardo leaves McLaren at the end of the Formula 1 season
- After being shown the door by McLaren, Ricciardo hasn’t gotten much sympathy from team-mate Lando Norris
- This has led to some speculation that the McLaren pair may have fallen out
- However, Ricciardo came to Monza with a tattoo of Norris on his neck
- His decision to get the tattoo suggests he has no problem with Norris
Daniel Ricciardo appeared at a press conference with a ‘ridiculous’ tattoo of McLaren team-mate Lando Norris’s face on his neck ahead of this weekend’s Monza Grand Prix.
Ricciardo has had a difficult season in Formula 1, with just 13 points from 15 races and it was announced last month that he will be leaving McLaren at the end of the season. He is replaced by compatriot Oscar Piastri.
Despite his troubles on the track, Ricciardo appeared in Monza in good spirits, and it wasn’t long before he noticed he had a surprising tattoo on his neck. When asked why he had Norris’ face tattooed on himself, Ricciardo burst out laughing as he struggled to explain his decision.

Norris proudly showed his neck to reporters, but admitted the tattoo looked ‘ridiculous’
Ricciardo was in good spirits sitting next to seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton
‘This is ridiculous! I have Lando’s face on my neck,” he told reporters.
“Anyway, we did something small with the team this morning. He (Norris’ face on the tattoo) looks burnt! He (Norris) has a few with him too. You’ll see later, I’m sure.’
Ricciardo’s comments seem to suggest he and Norris are on good terms after the Briton denied a split between the pair earlier this week.
Norris had admitted he was “not surprised” that Ricciardo had been eliminated by McLaren, as he seemed to have little sympathy for his teammate’s loss of form.
“It’s not that I have a dig or anything, but if you look at the results, if you want two people to be on the same level, then you’re not surprised,” Norris said of McLaren’s decision to leave Ricciardo .
Norris recently denied arguing with Ricciardo after the Australian was knocked out by McLaren
“People will probably hate to say it, but it’s hard because I never know if I could face that in the future with this car or with another team or whatever, so I never want to contradict myself for the future.” going in, but I’ve just gotta focus on my driving.’
However, he later clarified his comments by insisting that there is no tension between him and Ricciardo.
“I want to be friends with as many people as possible, just like I am with Daniel now. We get along very well.
‘For some reason people think otherwise, but that’s not true at all.
‘We have a lot of fun together, we spend a lot of time together. But just things are different, probably because he’s a bit older and he likes different things,” he added.
