Copying and pasting from Stack Overflow will be much easier with this keyboard: it only has three keys and they are “Ctrl”, “C” and “V”
Stack Overflow It is one of those portals to turn to when we get stuck programming. And it is used, a lot. Only between March 26 and April 9, 2021, 40,623,987 code copies were made from the web, not bad. So much so that, on the occasion of April Fool’s Day, the company “announced” a product designed precisely to improve the experience of copying and pasting: The Key.
The Key was a keyboard with three keys: one for “Ctrl”, one for “C” and one for “V”, everything you need to be able to copy and paste with ease from Stack Overflow. Unfortunately, the keyboard was a joke and never saw the light of day, but now Drop has made its own version and it does indeed work.
The knowledge is there, you just have to take it … copy it
Dubbed “Stack Overflow The Key Macropad”, this little keyboard has been designed by Drop and Cassidy and used to copy and paste. However, it is programmable, so the user can really configure it to do what he sees fit.
The keyboard is made of CNC machined aluminum with a black finish. Los switches son Kailh Black Box and the keycaps are XDA profile custom with the Stack Overflow brand. In short, it is as simple as it sounds.
“Stack Overflow The Key Macropad” viene con un USB type C to USB type A cable to connect it to the computer, so if the PC only has USB-C ports, an adapter will have to be used. From the computer we can configure it using QMK so that, instead of copying and pasting, it can be used for other things, such as raising or lowering the volume or launching specific programs.
The price of the keyboard is $ 29. Drop ships worldwide and, from what we can see on the web, 5,200 units have already been sold. Shipments are scheduled for the end of the year.
