Romelu Lukaku COULD make his return to Chelsea against Juventus, reveals Thomas Tuchel, but is only fit enough for the ‘last minutes’, while Kai Havertz is in doubt over a hamstring strain
Chelsea got a big boost from the news that Romelu Lukaku is about to return from injury, with Tuesday’s clash against Juventus a possible date, although Kai Havertz is doubtful for the crucial encounter.
Lukaku has been out of action for just over a month after damaging his right ankle ligaments during the Blues’ 4-0 win over Malmo in the Champions League on October 20.
The European champions continue their defense midweek when Juventus visit Stamford Bridge, a match that will determine who leads Group H.

And speaking before that match, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel revealed that he could be bolstered by Lukaku’s presence as a substitute after intensifying his recovery in training.
‘I’m not sure yet [Lukaku]’Tuchel said on Monday when asked about the possibility of Lukaku participating.
He seemed fine in training yesterday, we’ll see the reaction. You have an appointment with the doctors and physical therapists.
Maybe we can bring 20 players to the squad. The last few minutes would be the absolute maximum. ‘
However, his outlook on Havertz was less positive after he was forced to withdraw during Saturday’s 3-0 Premier League win at Leicester City due to hamstring discomfort.
‘Jorginho is absolutely fine. Kai had a hamstring problem so we took it out and we have some doubts with him, ” he continued.
“This is more or less the question mark.”
