Cesc Fabregas believes that Timo Werner is being disappointed by his Chelsea teammates and, as a result, seems “fed up”.

The German striker completed his £ 47 million move from RB Leipzig to Stamford Bridge last summer, but has since struggled to establish himself in West London.

After becoming a goal-scoring machine in the Bundesliga, the 25-year-old has failed to replicate that same form in England, scoring just six goals in his first Premier League campaign.

His performances have left many Blues fans frustrated as Werner has missed many guilt-edge opportunities in front of goal, prompting the club to spend money once again and bring Romelu Lukaku into the club for £ 98 million.

But while Werner’s struggles have continued in front of goal this season, scoring just once in seven appearances, Fabregas believes the German international can offer much more, only if his teammates give him the ball.

During a question and answer session on his Twitter page on Thursday, a Chelsea fan asked Fabregas what he thought of Werner, to which the Spaniard replied: ‘He makes so many good runs but sometimes they either don’t see him or they don’t play the pass. Sometimes it seems fed up.

Werner ended his eight-month goal drought in the Premier League this month when he scored in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Southampton, and Werner insisted that his entire career with the Blues was summed up in those 90 minutes.

‘I was very happy to score and help the team’, Werner told Chelsea TV After the match. ‘In the first half, it was the story of my entire Chelsea career in one game a bit!

Obviously, it was not so clear because the referee took a while to make his decision. Maybe 50/50. We have to accept it, I had to accept it, and in the end, I was happy to be able to score again and we won the game.

“It was a very important victory after losing the last two. It was a very tough game for us because Southampton did very well ”.

Blues boss Tuchel was also happy that Werner was able to celebrate his goal after a difficult time in life in London.

“We are all relieved, he and I and the whole group,” Tuchel added after the game.

“Every time he scores, we have the feeling that there is a VAR decision that takes him away, there have been many very narrow decisions. I remember one against Liverpool that was super close.

“He has to keep going and a lot of things to improve. We are happy and relieved that you scored. It was a very, very important goal for us to ensure victory. And on the other hand, he was there when he had to be. ”
