Chef's Kitchen: Avocado Toast With a Kick at the Blind Tiger Cafe

TAMPA, Fla. – Chef Fredrick Martinez at the Blind Tiger Cafe in Tampa gives avocado toast a kick in the latest Chef’s Kitchen segment.

Ingredients:

  • Slice of 6-inch Cuban bread
  • Unsalted butter
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1/3 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • Salt pepper

Travel directions:

  1. Cut Cuban bread in half, butter half the bread and place in toaster or panini press
  2. Boil the egg sunny up or to your preference
  3. Slice avocados, peel with salt and pepper to taste and mash them into a spread
  4. When the toast is ready, spread the avocado evenly over the toast
  5. Place the egg on top of the toast and serve with the lime wedge next to it
  6. Combine olive oil with red pepper flakes and drizzle over it
