Biden is not traveling to Milwaukee to accept the Democratic nomination: AP source

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden will not travel to Milwaukee to accept his party’s nomination to the White House because of concerns about the corona virus.

That’s according to a Democrat with knowledge of the decision that spoke to the Associated Press on Wednesday on condition of anonymity to discuss the schedule.

Former Vice President Joe Biden speaks at a July 28 campaign event at the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center in Wilmington, Del.

The move is the latest example of the pandemic’s profound implications for the 2020 presidential election and the latest blow to the traditional conventions of party appointments that traditionally marked the beginning of the fall election.
