‘I need to know!’: Ben Foster reveals cheeky Mohamed Salah questioned him on what path he would take to save his penalties AFTER the final whistle of Liverpool’s win against Watford
- Liverpool attacked Watford 5-0 in the league at Vicarage Road earlier this month
- Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino scored in the Reds’ victory
- Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster revealed Salah is committed to staying on top
- The Egyptian asked which way Foster would have dived if he had taken a penalty.
Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster has revealed what Mohamed Salah asked of him to stay on top of his game, following Liverpool’s 5-0 win at Vicarage Road.
The Hornets attacker praised the Egyptian for his commitment to stay on top despite already scoring a massive victory.
Goals from Salah, Sadio Mane and a hat-trick from Roberto Firmino secured three points for Jurgen Klopp’s.
But despite seeing his network raped five times by the rampant Reds, Foster had nothing but admiration for Liverpool, particularly Salah.

Speaking about Cycling GK, the goalkeeper went on to reveal that Salah asked the 38-year-old where he would have dived in case he committed a penalty against him.
‘Oh my God, [Liverpool] they are the best greased machine, well drilled [team]. I think maybe, I’ve even played against it in my entire career, ” he said.
But the part I want to talk about in particular is the Mo Salah part. About what he told me full time that made me think, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re so professional, so motivated, you want to be the best you can be.

Sadio Mane (center) also made the record when he found the net in just eight minutes in
‘So they just won the game 5-0, I think Mo Salah scored a goal in that game. But he approached me full time. He has covered his mouth a little with his hand because he did not want the cameras to capture him so much. But it has risen and gone; ‘Ben, Ben’, I said “okay yeah? Are you okay?”
And he’s gone, “if I had received a penalty, in which direction would you have jumped?” As soon as he said that, I thought, oh, smart, smart boy. Because we do our research, all goalkeepers investigate the forwards, and we will try to find out where their last four or ten penalties could have gone, ”Foster added.
‘For example, and Mo Salah’s last five penalties put them to the right of the goalkeeper. So I looked at it and said, ‘I would have gone to my right.’ I would have dived to my right because you put your last five penalties to the right.
Despite suffering at the hands of Jurgen Klopp, Foster praised Salah’s commitment
And a big smile appeared on his face, a big smile, and he said, ‘Yes, thank you. I need to know, I need to know. ‘
‘So you’re not content to win the game 5-0 and score a goal and be a man of the match, and score an amazing goal, you have to know the little details about your next game. If you receive that penalty, how should you put it?
And that to me is … that’s why Mo Salah is among the best. He is the best ”.
