Belgium qualified for next year’s World Cup finals and maintained their undefeated qualifying streak by beating Estonia 3-1 in Brussels on Saturday.

The Belgians, semi-finalists in Russia in 2018, rose to an unassailable 19 points in Group E when Christian Benteke scored early and Yannick Carrasco and Thorgan Hazard added goals in the second half.

Belgium joins Brazil, Denmark, France and Germany in the top five countries to qualify for next year’s finals in Qatar.

But in fact it was a futile display from Belgium, whose fans were expecting more of a goal feast at the King Baudouin Stadium to celebrate qualification for a third consecutive World Cup.

Christian Benteke was one of the scorers when Belgium qualified for the World Cup next year.
