Barcelona: Ronald Koeman claims an ‘educational problem’ is to blame for fans crowding around his car
Ronald Koeman claims that an ‘educational problem’ is to blame for fans crowding around his car after the defeat of El Clásico de Barcelona, but admits that ‘I don’t think there is a solution’ to the tense scenes in the Camp Nou.
Ronald Koeman believes that an ‘education problem’ is to blame for the fans crowding into his car when the Barcelona coach tried to leave the Camp Nou after the Clásico’s defeat against Real Madrid.
The hosts lost 2-1 on the weekend after goals from David Alaba and Lucas Vasquez, and the result built up pressure on embattled coach Koeman, who is in the middle of a fight to avoid capture this season.
However, the post-match response was unpleasant, with Koeman’s car surrounded by a horde of fans, who also expressed their displeasure. Some hit his hat and hurled insults before he walked away.

And before the clash of the blaugrana against Rayo Vallecano, Koeman was questioned about the incident, and says that the behavior is due to a “social” problem.
“I don’t think there is a solution,” he said. ‘For me, it is a social problem. They are Cules, or people, who have education problems.
“They don’t know what the norms are, the values. The atmosphere on the ground, until 2-0, was the opposite. You don’t need to notice these people.

‘With the video, with the image… we already have it here every day.
‘It seems that it was only me, but you have to know that the same thing happened to many players, with their families.
Perhaps for me, being responsible, it was more exaggerated. until [Carles] Puyol passed, no one could leave the ground.
We have to find a way. It’s a social problem. ‘
After being asked about the scenes, Koeman admitted that he doesn’t think there is ‘a solution’
Since then, there have been concerns about a lack of organization and the effort required to disperse the small crowd by club officials, although Barcelona were quick to condemn the event and planned to implement ‘disciplinary measures’.
“FC Barcelona publicly condemns the acts of violence and disdain that our coach experienced when leaving the Camp Nou,” the club said in a statement.
“The Club will take security and disciplinary measures so that such unfortunate events do not happen again.”
Barcelona have had the worst start in their history in a Champions League campaign and are also faltering in LaLiga, already six points behind the pace.

They have also lost four consecutive El Clásico derbies, adding to a sense of irritation among the fan base. Koeman, however, praised the recent performance.
He said: ‘We controlled the game in the first half. And we had a great opportunity to take the lead.
But in the second half they defended well and we couldn’t create danger. I am disappointed by the result, but not by the performance ”.
