- Henrikh Mkhitaryan removed one from the scene, but Jonas Hoffman responded
Cruelty, the most obvious trait imposed on Hansi Flick’s Germany, again prevailed in Yerevan when Die Mannschaft crushed Armenia 4-1.
When Jonas Hoffman capped an impressive performance with the fourth, Germany scored their 29th goal in six games and their 17th in three.
They had long qualified for Qatar 2022, even before their 9-0 demolition of Liechtenstein, when Kai Havertz seized the first goal with a low cross from Hoffman from the left to open the scoring. Ilkay Gundogan followed with a double, the first a bobbling from outside the area, the second a penalty.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored just the second goal conceded by Germany in their last seven games from the post, before Hoffman capped off a dominant campaign in the group stage and scored seven wins out of seven for Flick.
