The Lakers star Anthony Davis missed the previous 30 games with right calf and heel issues before starting the first of LA’s two consecutive games against the Mavericks on Thursday night. Luka Doncic had 30 points, leading the Mavericks to a 115-110 victory over the Lakers on Thursday night.
Davis also missed two free throws while going 2 of 10 from the field. The big man settled for jumpers, but also couldn’t convert at the rim twice while playing nearly 17 minutes. Coach Frank Vogel told the plan was to play Davis for about 15 minutes, all in the first half.
Davis was shut down after a 122-105 loss at Denver on Feb 14, when Davis played just 14 minutes in a 122-105 loss that started a slide of five losses in six games.
