’80s singer Benny Mardones has died after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, according to a Billboard report.
Mardones is known for his hit single ‘Into the Night’.
He lived in downtown New York for a while and called Syracuse his home while fighting addiction.
He performed at the Palace Theater in 2015 to raise money for local veterans.
Mardones also organized other concerts in the area to raise money for breast cancer research.
He was 73.
