Giovanni Pernice of Strictly Come Dancing is reportedly the favorite to be part of a same-sex dance couple for this year’s upcoming BBC series.
The Italian professional dancer, 31, was likely to be linked with Radio 2 DJ Richie Anderson, who has already confirmed he is partnering with a man.
It comes as Loose Women star and recently announced celebrity contestant Kaye Adams revealed she would love to be paired up with a gay dance partner on the show.

Last year, the same-sex couple was between Bake Off star John Whaite, 33, and Johannes Radebe, 35, who finished second to Giovanni and his partner, EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis.
The year before, there was a same-sex pairing — marking the very first time the show formed a same-sex couple — between dancer Katya Jones and boxer Nicola Adams.
Giovanni told The sun of his potential couple: ‘If the production people come up to me and say ‘Listen Giovanni, we’d like you to partner up with a man’, I’d say ‘yes’.
“It would give me a chance to challenge myself with new routines. You need to think about it more. I like to challenge myself.”

A source added to the publication: ‘Giovanni is very happy to take on the challenge and wants to show fans that he can dance just as well with a man as with a woman.’
Strictly and representatives of Giovanni have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.
It comes after earlier this week DJ Richie, 34, revealed he will be joining the 2022 series on his radio show, joining Coronation Street stars Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, Kaye and comedian Jayde Adams in the current lineup. .

The former Sunday League footballer – who went viral in 2018 when he came out to his teammates at Coombs Wood FC in an emotional documentary – said it is a “huge honour” to be part of the all-male partnership of the show.
He said in a release: ‘This is a dream come true! I can’t wait to get into those glitters and sequins and swing across the most famous dance floor in the world! Strictly speaking it’s the ultimate feel good show, once I hear that iconic theme song it’s pure escapism.
“I will have to cancel my legendary ‘Strictly’ launch night kitchen party that I throw every year, I’m sure my friends and family will understand.”

He added: “It’s also a huge honor to be part of an all-male dance partnership, it’s so important that we have that inclusion in such a huge show.”
Meanwhile, Scottish TV star Kaye, 59, has revealed that she would love to be a couple with a gay dance partner.
She said the mirror: ‘I don’t want a heterosexual.
“I’d be ashamed of them – because a young, hot heterosexual will be like he’s dancing with his mother.

In 2018, Richie famously came out as gay to his soccer teammates in the Sunday league during a feature for The One Show that explored homophobia in sports.

The team knew that Richie was filming a piece for the daily BBC One programme, but it wasn’t until he let them sit in the locker room after the game that they discovered that he was investigating the issues of being gay in grassroots football.
“One of the big issues we’ve been looking at this week, uh, it’s really close to my heart, is homophobia in football,” Richie began.
“The reason that means a lot to me is that I’m a gay footballer. So I just wanted to be really open and honest with you. It’s just been class.
“This is really hard for me to do…” he added, before his teammates started applauding him.
Richie went on to say that he was so relieved. I can’t even tell you.’
He continued: ‘I expected it because they are a good bunch of guys. It probably helped that I scored too, but I’m so relieved.
“Most importantly, I hope there are people looking at this in the same boat as I am and thinking, ‘You know what? I can do that too.”
