Amanda Seyfried says two Bachelorettes in current season 'probably the best thing they've ever done'

Amanda Seyfried has admitted she has a guilty pleasure: The Bachelor franchise.

The 36-year-old actress was on the Jess Cagle podcast with Julia Cunningham on Sirius XM Wednesday when the topic of the hit dating show came up.

When introducing the topic, Julia joked that she had a PhD in Bachelor-nation and the Dropout actress joked that she was “writing my thesis now.”

The show that started with a single man looking for love dating several beautiful women while trying to narrow the group down to one true love was launched in 2002.

“God, I struggle with it more and more every year,” she admitted.

“This formula works, it does, but it hasn’t evolved fast enough to make me feel, you know, guilt-free looking at it.”

The Bachelorette was launched in 2003.

Going into the crux of the current season, which features not one, but two bachelors, Rachel Recchia, 26, and Gabby Windey, 31, instead of one, the Emmy nominee said the format change is “probably the best thing she’s ever seen.” ever did. I am most passionate about that direction from now on.’

Describing the reality aspect in the show’s final episodes, the Mank actress said, “But I also love seeking out the authenticity you so rarely see.”

“I’ll say, I think Gabby is the most self-reflective, confident, there’s a, yes, she’s got her problems, we all have, but she expresses herself in a way, articulates herself in a way that I really appreciate and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it.’

The Crowded Room star, who is a mother of two and happily married to fellow actor Thomas Sadowski, 46, since 2017, was hesitant when asked which bachelor she would choose for herself. “I’d say Ben. Ben is the only one. When I met Ben, I thought, “I really appreciate you.” I do not know what it is. I just can’t think of even going on a date. None of them.’
