2.8 magnitude earthquake hits near Piedmont rattles in east bay

A small earthquake that struck the East Bay just after midnight is the second this week to shake the area.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, It was the second small quake in the neighborhood this week, the 2.8 magnitude quake struck at 12:18 a.m.

The USGS said centered about 3.1 miles north-northeast of Black Rock and about 30 miles northwest of Jonesboro.
